| Point Joe |
| For centuries, mariners set their courses for Point Joe in the belief that it was the entrance to Monterey Bay. However, the rocks that make the view at Point Joe so stunning also make the waters treacherous, and many of those mariners did not escape alive. Directly off Point Joe—which sits at almost the northernmost point of 17-Mile Drive-you'll find a nautical rarity called the Restless Sea. Here the ocean current colides with rugged underwater rock formations so that even on the calmest day, the ocean explodes in a turbulence of sea and spray. |

| Bird Rock |
| This magnificent landmark, just a short distance off shore, is home to herds of sea lions, harbor seals and, of course, countless shoreline birds. Binoculars are provided to allow visitors a closer look. |
|
China Rock |
| China Rock was named in memory of the Chinese settlers who established fishing villages here in the late 1800s and early 1900s. |
|
Fanshell Overlook |
| Fanshell Beach is famous for its pure, white sand. Each spring, harbor seals return to Fanshell Beach to bear their young. |
|
Cypress Point Lookout |
| This promontory offers the most extensive view of the Pacific coastline anywhere on 17-Mile Drive. On clear days you can see Point Sur Lighthouse, which is 20 miles to the south. |
|
Crocker Grove |
Comprising 13 acres of native pines and cypress trees, Crocker Grove is a designated nature preserve. The oldest and largest known Monterey cypress tree grows in this beautiful sanctuary. |
|
The Lone Cypress |
| Perhaps the most famous tree in the world, the Lone Cypress Tree is the symbol of Pebble Beach Company . Clinging to seemingly bare rock, the Lone Cypress has served as inspiration for countless artists, photographers, poets and dreamers. It is between 200 and 300 years old. |
